Etnia Barcelona.

Premium

Considering the top retail outlets that the Etnia brand works with around the world, they thought it would be a good idea to create more premium display material, so appealing and eye-catching that it would be worth keeping to display for several collections. Something that, in some way, would be aesthetically valid enough to deserve to be exhibited in a contemporary art museum.

Several concepts emerged from this proposal: classic busts and modular Pop displays.

The busts began as plaster busts submerged in an epoxy resin prism, but their heavy weight made them difficult to ship to stores abroad. So we opted for a lighter version, where the freestanding bust floated inside a plexiglass urn, and right where the bust would have its eyes, a hole was left to display the product—in this case, glasses—creating a curious contrast. The piece was finally illuminated from within, creating a powerful and hypnotic effect in shop windows at night.

Standar

For the rest of the establishments, we designed a simpler version, where only a strip of the bust is preserved, resting on a pedestal that simulates a stream of paint spreading across the surface, but with the same colours as the model of glasses on display, and a corporate red version of Etnia.

The Pop displays were designed as a way of combining four colours (Etnia red, white, black and gold) and four materials (plexiglass, brass, varnished wood and lacquered wood) that could be combined in the simplest geometric shapes and could be mixed and matched with each other.
