Playful design

Of the two proposals we developed for this interior design project, one required intensive graphic design and furniture work.

We liked the idea of creating a very playful space, despite it being a souvenir shop, where everyone would feel comfortable—especially younger visitors—and which would encourage interaction with the environment and the products on display. To be more original, we decided to design the furniture from scratch. It was a particularly difficult challenge to come up with the irregular shelves, the stacked rotating drawers, the coat racks and the floor displays.

To give the whole thing coherence, unity and colour, we felt it was necessary to create a series of characters—little animals—that appeared at strategic points on each piece of furniture, columns or the walls themselves, as if interacting or playing with their surroundings.
