Discover the origin

Wildfood has just opened a new restaurant in Barcelona, in an iconic building in the city centre—La Casa de les Punxes, a fine example of Catalan modernism by Josep Puig i Cadalfach from 1905—which limited any intervention, both interior and exterior, in the area designated for the restaurant, making it almost a temporary architectural project.

The choice of furniture took on special importance, as it determines the flow and division of the premises into two clearly differentiated areas.

Thus, we find a restaurant with two areas, a more formal atmosphere consisting of sofas and a predominant blue tone that invades the space and contrasts with the green of the building’s interior. On the other side, the colours combine and become warmer, with the green of a long sofa, pink and warm shades of orange and beige predominating.

Both spaces are unified through the use of natural fabrics, in rugs that cover the sofas and make them more welcoming, and in the lamps, which have a strong presence in the space without detracting from the Catalan vaulted ceiling, so characteristic of the period.

With this same intention and bringing nature into the premises, baskets are hung from the ceiling to form clouds of vegetation, which, together with the large plants placed in the windows, establish the natural feel that was so sought after in the project.
